Jewelry History

Georgian

1714-1830

Named for the rule of the four King George’s, jewelry during this time was entirely handmade and very unique. Rose cut diamonds, precious stones, cameos, intaglios, mosaics and mourning jewelry were common; metals of choice included iron, steel, silver and gold. Popular motifs of the time included feathers, flower sprays, insects and birds.
