Once the deposit is paid, the piece will be taken off the showroom floor and is unavailable for sale during the hold period. At the end of the week, if you decide to purchase the piece, the deposit is applied towards the balance. If you decide not to purchase the piece, the deposit is returned to you in store credit only. Once the deposit is paid, the piece will be taken off the showroom floor and is no longer available for sale. After that, you will have six months to pay the balance, interest-free, in any increment you choose.

Please note that all Payment Plan payments are non-refundable.     top

Are your prices negotiable?

The prices listed on our website and in our store are firm. We’ve set this policy for the benefit of our customers, who appreciate knowing that they are getting a fair price on items purchased at Doyle & Doyle.     top

Do you offer a warranty on your pieces?

All of our jewelry is sold as is.

An old piece of jewelry is like an old car - it requires attention and preventative measures. It’s your responsibility to take care of it for future generations of use.

We recommend that you check stone settings for security at least every month, as well as after any impact to the piece. Please consult your salesperson for the best way to check the security of your stone. If you notice your stone is loose, please contact Doyle & Doyle to arrange to bring your piece in for tightening.

In addition, we recommend that you bring in precious stone rings every 6 months for review. We will check the security of the stones, as well as of the prongs.

When you bring your ring in for tightening, remember to bring an EGL or GIA certificate if the center diamond is over 0.50ct.

We strongly encourage insurance for your jewelry. Doyle & Doyle does not provide jewelry insurance, but your salesperson would be happy to provide you with a list of insurers     top

Can you resize my ring?

All rings sold by Doyle & Doyle come with a sizing, if sizing is possible, at no extra charge. Please note that in some instances a ring cannot be resized due to the make of the ring. Our staff can help you determine which rings can and cannot be sized, as well as the proper size for you.     top

Will you repair my jewelry?

We will repair your pieces purchased at Doyle & Doyle. We do not repair any outside jewelry.

Please note that we do not work on Doyle & Doyle pieces that have had repairs or modifications done by other jewelers. Jewelers who are inexperienced with antique and estate jewelry can cause irreparable damage to a piece. If you are in need of a repair or modification for jewelry purchased at Doyle & Doyle, please contact us.

In addition, rings with center diamonds larger than 0.50ct must be accompanied by a certificate from EGL or GIA during the repair process. Please bring your original certificate with you when you drop off your jewelry. If you do not have a certificate, call us so that we can advise you on the process of acquiring a certificate.

Will you appraise my jewelry?

We will appraise pieces purchased at Doyle & Doyle for insurance purposes at no extra charge. This service usually requires one week to complete. The piece must be present for the duration of the appraisal. Your piece will be examined and valued by our certified on-site gemologists.

We do not offer appraisals for pieces not purchased at Doyle & Doyle. If you own a piece of estate jewelry and you are interested in having the piece appraised for insurance or resale, you should look for a certified appraiser in your area who is skilled in antique and estate jewelry. Often, a local antiques dealer can recommend an appraiser in your area. Additionally, the International Society of Appraisers has a website that can help you locate a local appraiser: http://www.isa-appraisers.org/ISA_form.html     top

Do you buy jewelry?

We do not purchase pieces from individual sellers.     top

Is this all antique jewelry?

While we carry a vast selection of antique and estate pieces, we have many new pieces as well. Standouts in our collection are our bands, which are crafted to complement our antique and estate engagement rings. We also carry Heirloom by Doyle & Doyle, our line of new jewelry inspired by some of our favorite antique pieces.     top

How often do you get new pieces?

We are constantly looking for and finding interesting pieces. Please feel free to stop in or call to find out about our new acquisitions, or check the ‘Of the Moment’ or ‘New Arrivals’ section of our website.     top

I need to buy a gift, can you help me?

At Doyle & Doyle, whether you’re shopping for a special piece for yourself, or looking for the perfect gift, we work with you one-on-one to help you find what you are looking for. Our knowledgeable sales staff will happily assist and consult with you regarding your purchase.     top

My favorite piece has been sold! Can you help me find a similar piece?

Yes! We offer a Wishlist service, where we’ll look for pieces based on your specifications, budget and time frame. Please note that our antique and estate pieces are most often one-of-a-kind, and finding an exact match may not be possible. So if you see a piece that you love, don’t let it get away!     top

I already have a diamond—do you sell mountings?

We have a wonderful selection of both antique and new settings with a wide selection of center stones. These mountings are not available for sale without the center stone.     top

Do you sell loose diamonds?

We have a wide range of both antique and modern cut loose diamonds for sale. An appointment is necessary for viewing loose diamonds. Please contact us by phone or at info@doyledoyle.com for more details regarding loose stones, or to schedule an appointment.    top

Are your diamonds certified?

We provide gemological laboratory certificates (predominantly EGL or GIA) for diamond rings with center diamonds that are .50ct and above. Diamonds under .50ct can be graded and appraised by one of our certified on-site gemologists. This service usually requires one week to complete, and the ring must be present through the duration of the appraisal. Please call 212.677.991 to set up an appointment if you require this service.     top

Are your diamonds conflict-free?

Many of our diamonds are old cut stones. Since they were mined, cut, and originally sold in the 1940s or earlier, you can be assured that your purchase is not funding any current conflict. The Round Brilliant Cut Diamonds we carry in the store are from sources that state they trade conflict-free.     top

What is the best way to care for my jewelry?

Jewelry requires special care depending on the specifics of the piece. The type of care required will be determined by stone types, manufacturing techniques and condition.

Basic care includes storing jewelry so that the pieces do not touch each other. If they are not properly separated, pieces can easily scratch and damage other pieces. This is especially important for pieces that incorporate diamonds in their design.

Do not use jewelry cleaner, ultrasonic cleaners or steam cleaners unless you have checked that it is safe for your piece of jewelry. Even water can damage certain pieces.

To quickly clean stones, you can use a lint-free polishing cloth. Use the dry cloth to remove fingerprints and oils from the surface of stones. You’ll be amazed at how your stone will sparkle after a quick polish!

Stone settings should be checked for security regularly. Please consult your salesperson for the best way to check the security on your stone. If you notice your stone is loose, please contact us to arrange to bring your piece in for tightening.     top
